Ingrid Graham's Collaboration Movement

"Collaboration Movement"
written by Calvin Wiley
Ingrid Graham’s "Collaboration Movement" added some "REAL" dance, spice and passion to the performance arts scene in New York City. Both sold out nights beat an inspiring drum alongside the more frenzied and trendy scene of Manhattan’s Meatpacking District.
In an intimate modern dance space the beautiful collection of dancers performed brilliantly, en ensemble and displayed individual finesse. Immediately setting a tone of confidence, powerful energy and palpable creative belief, grand movements stunned the audience in an intimate setting, whilst petite dancer accents demanded we appreciate each distinctive characters role in the composite.
The "Collaboration Movement" promise was fulfilled as the show explored and exposed the vast landscape of movement remaining dedicated to the dance medium. The movement themes and ideas gave way to the premiere of "Mujeres", a dance piece set to the music of Si*Se. This soft, amorous, high impact and beat filled affair was a chock full of ear candy with sounds provided by a live DJ, who is also the lead vocalist of Si*Se.
A combination of solo and group pieces, allowed each factor of the company to excel. Ingrid Graham’s solo performance undertook contemporary ballet with intensity and passion, paying acute detail to her face and musculature skills to express the distress, sensual passion and pain of unrequited love. Whilst emotional dynamics ran hot, the pace was controlled and steady.
Ingrid Graham is clearly ferociously committed to dance and her personal connection to causes such as Alzheimer’s, which inspired this performance and all proceeds went to support research surrounding this cause.
Ingrid Graham, dancers and artists associated with "Collaboration Movement" have every right to be proud of their body of work and performance, a reflection of ongoing belief and energy, plus a brave ability to cross themes and boundaries in the quest for originality and truth.
