how to submit nominations

To submit a work for consideration, send an email to hvc@drc-la.org with the following information:

1. Name of work you are nominating
2. Name of person you are nominating
3. Award category for this nomination
4. Name of company
5. Name of production
6. Name of venue
7. Performance dates
8. Name of Artistic Director and contact (if known)
9. Your name and contact (email address and phone number)

If you are nominating your own work, please upload a video excerpt (no more than 5 minutes) to your own YouTube account, then request membership in our 2009 Horton Awards YouTube group at http://www.youtube.com/group/2009hortons. Once you have been approved, you may add your except to the group. These videos will help DRC members vote for the final list of nominees.

Eligibility

1. Submitter must be a current member of the Dance Resource Center. (Submitter may submit the work of non-members.)
2. Performance must have taken place during calendar year 2009 - that is, nominees for the 2009 Horton Awards must have performed the nominated work between January 1 and December 31, 2009.
3. Nominated artists must be residents of the greater Los Angeles area.
4. Dance education based productions/performances are ineligible. However, a dance that originated in an educational setting but was subsequently performed in a professionally produced concert is eligible.
