Quantum Entanglement-Library Version
DONNA STERNBERG & DANCERS in collaboration with Michael Masucci/EZTV present a dance/multimedia event exploring the concept of entanglement from both a scientific and human perspective. Quantum Entanglement mixes up the subatomic movement of particles with the emotional ramifications of being entwined with people and situations.
Working with the unique indoor and outdoor spaces at the library, the event will begin in the Martin Luther King auditorium. Live dancers will interact with video projections, followed by a new short film by Michael Masucci and a discussion by Ms. Sternberg and Mr. Masucci about the creation of the work. The basis for this piece comes from the science of quantum physics, examining how two or more objects are linked together even though they may be spatially separated. Quantum Entanglement is a year-long project that has been adapted and performed in several different spaces throughout Los Angeles, with the work changing to take advantage of each new performance site. This performance is part of Donna Sternberg & Dancers 25th anniversary year and is a continuation of the company’s science series, which seeks to build a bridge between dance and science through the artistic interpretation of scientific principles.
