Throughout its 27 year history Rhapsody In Taps has dedicated its creative
energy to fusing tap dance with a wide range of live music and this season the
repertoire is particularly rich! The company will present the edgy,
syncopated, Mambo Musings (World Premiere), Tribute to Foster Johnson
(includes
archival clips of tap master, F. Johnson), BEAT! Percussion
Discussion, solos by RIT’
s “fast feet” tap phenomenon Bob Carroll and by Mindy Millard Copeland,
Deciduous Dances, a duet performed by Artistic Director, Linda
Sohl-Ellison and
master percussionist, Monti Ellison plus Laughing With Tears, Rhapsody
In Taps’
critically acclaimed tap dance and klezmer music collaboration featuring
original music by Russian born clarinet virtuoso Leo Chelyapov.
