L.A. Contemporary Dance Company presents "Value System"
The L.A. Contemporary Dance Company investigates where true value exists in a time of financial instability in an evening length work created collaboratively by the members of the company. To create the piece, each dancer gifted a piece of choreography to another dancer as a solo. These solos evolved into duets, quartets and a final harmonious octet to create a piece that is invaluable and rich with everyone's investments. The performances will be accompanied by an alternative rock soundtrack and original compositions played live by resident composer Eric Mason. In addition, dancers will manipulate the lighting and scenic elements created by muralist Ah Rong Kim for a hands on approach to creating this theatrical experience. We look forward to sharing the work with you and hearing your thoughts in our Q & A sessions following every performance.
Choreography and performances by Paulo Alcedo, Michael Crotty, Devin Fulton, Jamila Glass, Natalie Hurter, Kate Hutter, Nichol Mason, Erik Speth, Kevin Williamson and guest artist, Melissa Schade.
