Mongrels

MONGRELS captures the spirit of the underground electronic music dance party community, and brings it to an evening-length, multi-form dance performance. Giron has facilitated collaboration among classically-trained artists and professionals from the electronic music world. Her four dancers present a unique movement language that integrates elements of street / club dance with modern and ballet.
(April 16-19) will feature the work of local electronic musicians such as Heavenly Father (experimental electronic live P.A.) and Datgirl (glitch ghettotech live P.A. and M.C.).
The second weekend (April 23-26) will feature the choreography and performance of guest artist d. Sabela grimes (hip-hop fusion blending street dance with storytelling and electronic music). Grimes will perform Thursday through Sunday.
